A few words about me…

I’m Marilyn Brandon, and I weave stories about family, friendship, love, and redemption. While I reluctantly admit to being a workaholic, I proudly profess my love of God, family, animals of all kinds, and the great outdoors.

First and foremost in my life is my relationship with my Heavenly Father. “Redeem the time,” I hear Him say. Time. Precious and irretrievable. We can never go back. Never undo what’s been done. Never retrieve a word once spoken. With every novel I write, I include something that points readers to Jesus. Sometimes it’s an element of forgiveness or repentance. Other times, it’s the joy that comes from freedom and redemption.

I’m Mom to three incredible daughters and Mimi to five grands. They fill my life with pure, unadulterated joy. All of them.

On writing~

While I’ve enjoyed the bulk of my career in the children’s clothing industry, I’ve never strayed far from my first love––the written word. I’ve spent the last few years writing for the women’s Christian fiction market. My first two novels, Shine, and Finding Juvie Blue, are ready for publication. My third novel, Saving Arie, (title subject to change) will be coming soon.

Writing, for me, is cathartic. I think writers in general weave a bit of themselves into every story. Within the pages of my books, you’ll find bits and pieces of my honest-to-goodness real life, warts and all. You’ll also find quirky, lovable characters, real events (some, not all), and a smattering of my own life experiences. It’s all there, woven in like a finely-needled tapestry.

I’m often asked about my hobbies and what I enjoy doing when I’m not writing. If I’m not reading or writing, you’ll usually find me in the kitchen or the craft room. I sew. A lot. I spend a lot of time with my grandkids. After that, I quilt, sew kid’s clothes, smock, create heirloom garments, knit, crochet, applique, (my favorite) and occasionally I even sew some home dec.

I’ll be updating with news of current titles and upcoming releases in the weeks and months to come. Stop in and say hello when you can. I’d love to hear from you! 🙂 Better yet, share a few of your own special memories, if you’re so inclined.

Come back often and soon,

Marilyn
